The Capitol Leadership Academy (CLA) is a dynamic program that brings together the country's most promising minority youth and challenges them to become leaders for the next generation. CLA is providing the training young leaders need in order to be makers of change in our nation. In Washington, young leaders will not only learn about leadership, service and politics, they will live it. 
CLA provides underrepresented high school and college-aged students with the critical training and tools to take civic action, run for office, and engage directly with policymakers in order to bring about proactive public policy.

In Washington, students will stay and study at one of our nation's top universities.  Transforming them to gain the tools, training, and political skills necessary to lead our communities and to lead America.
