Dear 4CB supporter!
The
above Malcolm X quote encapsulates the direction that 4 Circles Beyond
Inc. (4CB) is headed in. Since joining Niyonu Spann, the founder of
4CB, I have become even more committed to doing this work. We are
reaching out to you as someone who has been following some of our
efforts. We ask you to GIVE from
the heart so we can continue these innovative and engaging programs.
We are excited to share with you what has happened the past few months
and what is on the horizon in the near and distant future.

4CB kicked off the year with Niyonu hosting a
Dream,Think, Activation Tank
which invited people to become a part of her vision for Peace Academies
- starting with a Peace School in Chester, PA. There were over 40
people who attended from Massachusetts to Maryland. Folks not only got a
glimpse of Niyonu's dream, but were invited to share their own
initiatives and to network for support. Riding this wave of inspiration,
4CB has begun developing its Board of Directors and an Advisory Board.
We will hold the first meeting of the new 4CB board on June 13th.
In addition to the Dream, Think, Activation Tank,
past participants and staff of the Peace Leadership and the Arts Camp
have been meeting quarterly to build upon the work that began last
summer. So far in 2015, our sessions have included watching the movie,
Selma together followed by a discussion of the film over lunch and
meeting twice to complete songs that the campers started writing over
the summer. By the time you receive this, these talented young artists
will be in the studio recording the songs and preparing to get them out
for all to hear!

This coming Summer, our camp theme is R
aising Our Voice: Social Action for the Millenials
.
We plan to expand camp from 2 weeks to 3 weeks this summer. We are
also in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Winterveld, South
Africa for Spring 2016! And as I mentioned above, the Peace School in
Chester is the ultimate goal. Envision a place where young people can
come and freely express who they are through music, media arts, and
visual and theater arts. A place where education is flowing from teacher
to student and student to teacher. A place where young people are
learning how to think so they CAN change the world!
In order for these dreams to come to fruition, we ask your financial support and we ask that you share this dream with your circle of friends and family.
Thank you and please take time to become a fan of the Peace Leadership and Arts Camp of Chester, PA Facebook
page. As Dr. Maya Angelou once said, "I'm convinced of this: Good done
anywhere is good done everywhere....as long as you are breathing, it's
never too late to do some good."
Blessings,
