The George W. Crawford Black Bar Association 2015 Annual Dinner was held Thursday May 14, 2015. It is relatively important to identify the two young lawyers pictured above who are part of the current leadership.
It is certainly important to note the faces of the two esteemed individuals below who were honored.
Perhaps however, it is even more important to discover or to become further familiar with George W. Crawford.
I love history and herstory but will admit that narratives and recitations can become binding and restrictive at times and not liberating.
As you read this consider the concept of the rule of law and desire for liberation and freedom.
You do not have to be a lawyer, judge or law school graduate to aspire to the most supreme court of human understanding and compassion.
You do not have to have passed the bar to create love jurisdictions free from red lining, disparate treatment and implicit bias.
In fact I would posit that your duty on the planet among the many that you have either been assigned to , chosen for, destined to embrace or running away from like Jonah in the Whale is to earn your individual Juris doctorate where only you can decide how high the bar of satisfaction and sense of completion will be.
In the spirit of graduation season, Let Us Commence !
