Attending to one’s health and well-being is not self-indulgent or elitist, it is essential to good leadership. This session will include reflections on individual leadership. Participants will get to know one another better through a discussion about how ensuring personal wellness can create greater growth in leadership and ultimately benefit our communities.
AKAYA WINDWOOD is the President of Rockwood Leadership Institute, the nation’s largest provider of transformative leadership trainings for nonprofit and philanthropic organizations.
Windwood leads trainings nationally and internationally, and has been a featured speaker at the Stanford Social Innovation Review, the Independent Sector Conference and, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations. She is the recipient of an Ella Award from the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and a Transformative Leadership Award from the Seasons Fund for Social Transformation.
Windwood currently serves on the advisory board of Destiny Arts Center and the advisory board for the National Progressive Leadership Campus. Windwood’s vision for our global community includes infusing a sense of purpose, delight, and wonder into everything we do.
