SPLC disrupts RNC trip funded by hate group |
The
American Family Association (AFA) – named a hate group by the SPLC –
was planning to quietly host an all-expenses-paid trip to Israel for
members of the Republican National Committee (RNC). But after we urged
all 168 RNC members not to attend, the AFA disavowed a series of bigoted
statements made by its chief spokesman, Bryan Fischer, and the RNC has
been hit with a barrage of criticism from both the American and Israeli

Ethics complaint filed against “Ten Commandments judge” |
The
SPLC has filed an ethics complaint against Alabama Chief Justice Roy
Moore over his statements urging the governor and Alabama judges to defy
federal law and enforce Alabama’s ban on same-sex marriages. In 2003,
we filed a similar complaint when Moore refused to remove his giant Ten
Commandments monument from the courthouse. That led to his removal from

SPLC in court to curtail use of pepper spray on children |
SPLC
attorneys are now in court fighting to stop the rampant use of pepper
spray against children in Birmingham, Ala., public schools. Police in
the overwhelmingly African-American school system used chemical weapons
on 300 students over a five-year period. By contrast, in a neighboring,
largely suburban school system, chemical spray was used just once during
