NEW HAVEN >> For New Haven lawyer Michael Jefferson, a panel discussion at James Hillhouse High School Sunday celebrating the life of Malcolm X brought forth the slain civil rights activist’s legacy of courage and sacrifice.
“The black community has very few figures like Malcolm X who we can celebrate,” said Jefferson, one of the organizers of the panel discussion on Malcolm X’s speech, “The Ballot or the Bullet.”
The speech was delivered April, 3 1964, at the Cory Methodist Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
