Angelique Kidjo, a Grammy-winning singer and songwriter and humanitarian, is the recipient of the Festival's 5th Visionary Leadership Award. Free events and conversations, as well as a benefit luncheon, will mark her visit to New Haven.

Please join us in celebrating Ms. Kidjo's remarkable achievements!

The Visionary Leadership Award will be presented to Ms. Kidjo this Wednesday at the annual Award luncheon. The event will include an on-stage conversation with Ms. Kidjo, moderated by radio host Marco Werman (The World).

Master's Teas at Yale provide an opportunity for students and the public to interact with a distinguished guest. Ms. Kidjo will be hosted by Master Stephen Pitti for conversation about her music and work.

Film Screening: Mama Africa

Mama Africa (2011, dir. Mika Kaurismäki) is a documentary about legendary African music icon Miriam Makeba, a major influence on Ms. Kidjo’s life and work. Ms. Kidjo appears in the film as a commentator, and will host this screening with Q&A following. Presented in partnership with Yale Film Studies.
