The Festival is thrilled to present its the 5th Visionary Leadership to singer, songwriter, and humanitarian Angélique Kidjo.We are honoring Angélique for the extraordinary range of her vision and artistry: In addition to her award-winning music career, she has served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2002 and is one of the co-founders of The Batonga Foundation, an organization that empowers women and girls by providing access to secondary and higher education.

FILM SCREENING
January 27, 7pm Angélique Kidjo will host this FREE New Haven screening of Mama Africa, a documentary about legendary African music icon Miriam Makeba, a major influence on Ms. Kidjo’s life and work. Ms. Kidjo appears in the film as a commentator, and will stay after the screening for Q&A. Free and open to the public.More information
MASTER'S TEA
January 28, 4pm At Ezra Stiles College, Yale, hosted by Master Stephen Pitti for a conversation about her work as a musician, and how she used her voice to create change and bring awareness to issues facing her home continent of Africa. Free and open to the public.FESTIVAL 2015
