A recent "demonstration" caused me to think about what we will be seeing, touching, feeling and BEING in the "future"?

Like the DaVinci vision sketches of manifestations which did not "materialize" until several hundred years later  as I viewed  this demonstration much began to dawn on me .

In the future,  we might click on a ubiquitous computer screen and see a movie, see a commercial, be in the commercial, experience news, interact with a play, impact a  newspaper, smell a recipe, order food, summon a call, send a message, talk to one or a thousand people at the same time or dare i say, just tap an icon on our phone.

We might tap our phone and enact the same energy signatures as just referenced, or place our headphones on and have the visual cortex activated in the same manner without google glass or occulus glasses.

What does it mean to witness the future.

I am not sure but I am certain that this demonstration portends the internal and external creative energy implosion and explosion which is detonating a new world of defining human existence.

Whether you consider my musings to be far fetched or far flung, I am looking forward to what unfolds.

I have asked Lee Cruz, Uma Ramiah, Leslie Blateau and Doug Housladen to comment.

Thanks for the coverage - the City is excited to launch our government dashboard open data initiative in the atrium at 165 Church Street. A number of these smart monitors will be portraying the Human Ecosystem project, which has been such an amazing project. The beauty of the project is in its ability to survey rapidly and accurately a large swath of the population that generally does not necessarily engage with City Hall.

From the Transportation department's perspective, the Human Ecosystems project gives us the ability to provide individual alternative route planning for individuals who are remarking on traffic in New Haven. Being able to help 500 individuals a year will have a difference in a few years to our transportation system, and will have immediate benefits for each of the recipients of their personalized route planning.

It's important to know this is one more tool in the tool belt for planners in addition to other methods. Nothing beats a face to face conversation; having real time information, however incomplete, is always a benefit to layer onto the other types of survey and information we work with at City Hall.
