The Connecticut Open during the qualifying matches prior to the main competition is
really exciting. The qualification process is indeed democratic and merit based. This is why I love tennis and golf. We can debate whether the cost of entry to learn and achieve in these sports is disparate, but with that being said for the chance to be made available to compete and break into the big time is encouraging.
