Envisioning Human Rights

An exhibit of world-class human rights photography is coming to Berkeley Law! Ten celebrated photographers--Mimi Chakarova, Nic Dunlop, Stephen Ferry, Stephen Goldblatt, Ken Light, Susan Meiselas, Thomas Morley, Gilles Peress, SebastiĆ£o Salgado, and Jean-Marie Simon--have donated 38 works to be shown at Boalt Hall and auctioned to benefit the Human Rights Center as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.

"These photographs capture profound moments of courage and defiance," said Eric Stover, faculty director of the Human Rights Center. "They remind us that human rights photography is at its best when it shuns the sensational and sentimental and instead finds human dignity in the face of injustice."

Join us for the exhibit's opening at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, in Boalt Hall's Steinhart Courtyard. Meet some of the photographers and hear from Pamela Blotner, the show's curator.
