The Program Manager oversees and manages Dwight Hall’s staff-led service and educational programs and as such serves as Dwight Hall’s principal staff liaison with institutional program student participants and student leaders to enable them to carry out effective service in communities and schools in New Haven. Dwight Hall’s institutional programs include: Dwight Hall Urban Fellows; Summer Fellows; Early Childhood Education Fellows; Co-op Afterschool Program; the Jones-Zimmermann Academic Mentoring Program; Community-Based Learning; and the Public School Interns.
BASIC FUNCTION
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager is primarily responsible for the success of the institutional programs of Dwight Hall and provides support and mentoring to the student leaders and participants of these programs. The Program Manager serves as Dwight Hall’s principal staff liaison with program partners in the schools and communities to identify needs, resources, and areas of growth. The Program Manager also is primarily responsible for the implementation of grant-funded programs, such as the CSDE after-school grant and the Jones-Zimmermann Foundation’s Academic Mentoring grant, and is responsible for reporting on outcomes and expenses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Advise/Supervise program staff of Dwight Hall at Yale institutional programs and Fellowships:
o Meet on regular basis with Advisors and/or student coordinators for each institutional program to ensure that goals for each program are met on timely basis;
o Oversee administrative processes for job posting, hiring, termination, time entry/approval, evaluation for all Fellows;
o Monitor progress of all Fellows in conjunction with Advisors and student coordinators through systematic review of regular reporting;
o Support the production and dissemination of summary reports on annual basis highlighting program characteristics, activities, impact, and any outcomes.
o Administer grant-funded and/or donor-directed programs by ensuring compliance and managing program and budget reporting.
o Identifies and develops education and training resources to support student leadership development.
o Provides program-related information for publication in various print and electronic materials.
o Collects and maintains data on program outcomes and analyses and evaluates program success.

Dwight Hall is looking for a dynamic individual who:

· Has experience in community service and volunteer management;
· Has experience working with college students and in a university environment;
· Has program management experience;
· Has experience supervising, managing, and training others;
· Has experience in administering and managing grants;
· Has strong verbal communication skills in order to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies;
· Has experience working with community organizations;
· Is familiar with Yale University and/or New Haven;
· Is comfortable with digital media and information management systems.
Bachelor’s degree required (master’s degree preferred) and three to five years’ experience in project management or public service.
