Regina Carter , At Morse Recital Hall , Yale University, IFAI, Tuesday June 17
Regina Carter (MacArthur “Genius” Fellow) is considered the foremost jazz violinist of her generation.
At the Festival, she explores and celebrates the folk tunes that her paternal grandfather would have heard in the South: Cajun fiddle music, early gospel and coal miners' work songs are meshed with contemporary tunes to form Carter's unique and engaging sound.
