Phase Two of Mental Invigoration comes this Monday when Neptune goes retrograde, closely following Mercury who began his own retrograde period this past Saturday. Neptune begins his annual four months moving backward amplified by the Scorpio Moon. Usually we adjust into his retrograde periods as a subtle seasonality, an increase in introspection, with dreams of the past. But during the days when Neptune stands still to make his change of direction, sometimes waves of imagination and feeling sweep over those affected, sometimes a deep clarity in the connectedness of life comes in moments of stillness.
When Neptune stations, the borders between worlds grow thin and porous. The world is shinier, reflecting back more of our own projections and obscuring a more reality-based viewpoint. We’re seeing ideals and glimpses of perfection that should point the way ahead, rather than cause disappointment that we have a ways to go.
With Mercury still generating mental eddies as he begins backward motion, Neptune and Mercury combine to signify early this week a complex time rich in creative potential. This is a time to move slowly to appreciate the depths beneath the surfaces. Getting fascinated by these same depths can lead to ordinary confusions, getting lost, losing stuff…distractions.
This combo also makes fertile time for scamming; be very wary of emails and telephone calls from unknown sources.
While we’re busy moving into our navels, Venus makes two strong connections this week. On Sunday she works with Pluto to let matters die whose time has come; they cooperate gracefully in easing along processes that can be difficult and more painful than necessary when done roughly.
The rough part comes this Thursday when Venus moves on to pass opposite Saturn. She does this every year and it’s not always dramatic, but it can’t be ignored. For those touched by these two, a phase in their interpersonal lives needs to evolve and mature. It often means letting go of comfortable self-images or cherished self-assessments. It’s time to move on. Both Saturn and Venus have a healing option through their connection to Chiron. This growth process becomes a liberation when a full admission of the need for it is made. Saturn-related changes like this can be resisted, even ignored, but the result is crystallization, which is more work to break down later.
The Venus-Saturn opposition comes on Thursday, exactly on the Full Moon in Sagittarius. The Gemini Sun and Sagittarius Moon are the Yin and Yang of our information systems. Gemini gathers and structures information, Sagittarius packages and distributes it. Perhaps the Venus-Saturn changes involve opening a new script and letting go of tired dialogues.
Unresolved tensions may come to a head on Saturday when Mars squares both the Moon and Pluto in the early hours. The Moon moves on to carry that tension to square Uranus a few hours later. The Mars-Pluto square begins two weeks when people will tend to be testy, over-reactive, sometimes hair-triggered. This ends when Mars is opposite Uranus on June 25th, completing his recap of April’s Cross. Issues from late April may rekindle as Mars goes back over his April track.
Sunday June 8, 2014 Libra Moon
Venus and Pluto cooperate today rewarding those who follow their people instincts. The world is backlit by Neptune's magic. He stands still tomorrow.
Monday June 9, 2014 Libra->Scorpio Moon
We're still strangers in a strange land even though we're moving away from the mental disruptions of Mercury's and Neptune's retrogrades. Imagination rules over intellect, hunches over conclusions.
Tuesday June 10, 2014 Scorpio Moon
Six water planets, including the Scorpio Moon, continue to flood our minds with feelings and messages from the body. When the Moon aligns with Saturn, it's a time to clarify desire and commitment. If it doesn't feel right, forget it.
Wednesday June 11, 2014 Scorpio->Sagittarius Moon
The Moon ends her overnight VOID period when she enters Sagittarius at 8:23am/11:23am. Expect the mood to brighten. The fog is clearing ahead of tomorrow's Full Moon.
Thursday June 12, 2014 Sagittarius Moon
Connect the dots on this Full Moon with the Gemini Sun opposite the Sagittarian Moon. Venus is opposite Saturn today creating clarity about money and relationships. Time to let go and move on.
Friday June 13, 2014 Sagittarius->Capricorn Moon
After 10:04a/1:04pm the Moon is in Capricorn and no longer VOID. Some of the "big" issues from April may resurface with Mars moving to square Pluto in a recap of the Cross pattern. Touchy matters escalate all too easily.
Saturday June 14, 2014 Capricorn Moon
Mars is exactly square to Pluto early today, amplified by the Capricorn Moon aligning with Pluto and also squaring Mars. Find a healthy channel for creative destruction: a new garden bed, demolition for renovation.

VOID Moon Tables
(As the moon moves through the signs of the Zodiac, there comes a time when it has made the last connection it can make while in the present sign. From that time until the Moon enters the next Zodiac sign it is said to be VOID. It means that things are "in neutral". It is a time to maintain routines but NOT a time to begin new projects. Ideas and opportunities which come up during VOID moon periods rarely amount to much. It's not a good time to schedule an important first meeting or to make decisions. This VOID time can last from a couple minutes to almost 48 hours depending on the arrangement of the planets in the signs.)
