Miss Sylvia Hare Day, Saturday April 26, 2014

Sylvia Hare was Winchester School's ( now Wexler/Grant) guiding light of love to all children for 34 years. Miss Hare's compassion and dedication to each child throughout the Dixwell community was a constant means of encouragement and success. Her tiny office near the gym a sanctuary for many.
Miss Hare is 84 years old living with her daughter, Afua in Houston, TX. Her desire has been to come home and visit with those "special children, now adults.
Saturday, April 26 has been dedicated as "Miss Sylvia Hare Day". The Elks Club, Webster St., New Haven will open its doors 2PM to 6PMfor all to share in their fond memories with Miss Hare.
