NAMI Elm City Presents: One Word, One Voice, One Life Connect Suicide Prevention Training. Monday, March 24, 5:30 - 8:00 pm at the New Haven Free Public Library. The One Word, One Voice, One Life: Connect Suicide Prevention Training is offered as a partnership between NAMI Elm City, The Connection, and the New Haven Local Prevention Council. This program will provide participants with an array of tools, including: How to recognize and respond to warning signs • Family and community risk/protective factors • Family and community positive influences that prevent suicide and other risky behaviors • Intervention skills for family, neighbors, and friends • How to communicate to parents/guardians/family/team during crisis • Confidentiality and reporting requirements • The effect of social media and electronic communication on suicide risk and much more
