 Explorations in Embellishment
Drawings and Paintings by Rachel Hellerich
    ©Rachel Hellerich, Emerald Erosions, 2013

Explorations in Embellishment is the second solo exhibition for Milford based artist, Rachel Hellerich. The show will include more than 20 drawings and paintings spanning from 2005 to the present. With a background heavily rooted in sculpture and installation, Hellerich's drawings have been a source of reflection, serving as blueprints for larger scale, atmospheric paintings.  The work encompasses a range of media including watercolor, ink and vinyl paint, each painting or drawing considered three-dimensionally from the compositional development of their subjects to their physical realization with brush, pen and palette knife.

There will be an opening reception on Sunday April 6th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Both the exhibition and the reception are free and open to the public. Exhibit runs from Sunday, March 30 - April 25th. For more information, visit our website at https://www.mercybythesea.org.

SoulCollage® - A Path to the Divine Within - with Beth Chipman and Barbara Marston
So often we look outside ourselves to find the Divine. The spiritual journey also takes us inward, something the great spiritual teachers have always told us. But where to begin? By shifting into the realm of imagination, intuition and insight, using the poetry of images, the SoulCollage® process takes you on a journey to explore the mysteries of your soul and find the Divine within. From this experiencial worshop, you will take home a uniquely personal collaged card or two and a creative practice that you can continue on your own, allowing you to sit at the feet of your inner teacher through the lovely creations you have made.
Saturday, May 24

Journey of Integration:  Invitation to the Second Half of Life - with Lorraine LaVigne, RSM - the journey of integration calls us to our deepest self, to wholeness. There comes a time in each of our lives when the question comes, "Is this all there is?" And so with that question comes the yearning to move deeper. We are invited to step into the journey of the second half of life. This means leaving the familiar, what we know, and searching out the least developed sides of ourselves. This search calls us to greater truth and reveals our buried treasure.
