International Day of Remembrance

March 25th marks the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
It’s estimated that over 12.5 million men, women and children were forcibly transported over a period of four centuries as part of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
Those who survived the journey across the Middle Passage awaited a harsh reality of backbreaking labor in the New World.
