Program Manager, New Haven Promise

New Haven Promise, a program and component fund of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, is seeking a Program Manager.  This position will have leadership responsibility for promoting and delivering the scholarship and outreach program to students, parents, educators, the community and others. Working with the Executive Director and New Haven Promise team, the goal is to ensure that systems are effectively and proficiently executed while meeting programmatic requirements and goals in a highly innovative and entrepreneurial environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the New Haven Promise scholarship and enrollment process in the City and public schools.
  • Effectively engage educators, students, parents and, organizations as partners and participants in Promise programming efforts
  • Leverage New Haven Promise’s partner relationship with College Summit in a way that complements and amplifies New Haven Promise’s impact.
  • Collaborate with New Haven Public School’s coordinators for service learning to implement x2VOL, an online tracking community service tracking tool.
  • Participate in and represent New Haven Promise’s vision and mission in the community, the schools and all related venues.
  • Assure the execution of the strategies for ongoing school and community engagement.
  • Design and develop special project programming focused on academic achievement and success of disparate student groups such as males and low-income subgroups.
  • Identify and resolve impediments or potential problems related to implementation and execution.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the continuous improvement of this program by advancing the achievement of higher education for New Haven youth.
  • Use design thinking to promote and leverage New Haven Promise’s strategic advantage to become a national thought leader for college and career success strategies that mobilize students, families and cities for education and economic stability.
  • Create new programmatic offerings as needed to meet New Haven Promise goals.
  • Complete other duties as assigned based on skill set, work experiences and organizational needs.
