Dr. Alveda King, niece of MLK, to speak in New Haven

NEW HAVEN >> Civil rights activist Dr. Alveda King, niece of
Dr. Martin Luther King, will be speaking in New Haven on March 1 at two
separate events.






King will be a featured speaker at the event, ‘Conversation on
Civil Rights…Then and Now’ held at Yale. The event is open and free to
the public. Later that evening, King will be the keynote speaker at the
1st Annual “Women Of Fire” awards dinner at Anthony’s Ocean View, hosted
by the CT Black Republicans & Conservatives.






Those who will be honored at the “Women Of Fire” event are
Crystal Wright, editor and publisher of the blog “Conservative Black
Chick,” and Pat Longo, the CT National Committeeman to the Republican
National Committee (RNC) and a delegate coordinator to the RNC for
Connecticut.






Dr. Alveda King is a former college professor and member of the
Georgia State House of Representatives. King has receieved multiple
awards for her work as an activist for civil rights and pro-life
movements.
