WE ARE ONE

I had the chance recently to spend time with some new friends, current acquaintances and new faces.

It is always fascinating to me how I categorize and label people without really knowing what I am seeing and feeling.

It is easy to select a definition frame, that fits the perceptual outlook. Some times we will wear the same pair of glasses for many years and sometimes we will try on new frames like an addiction. One day we might have 20-20 vision and years later another diagnostic measure might prove to be more accurate. But this urge and impetus to see is a good thing in my opinion.

I fervently believe in the theory that we are one.  Connected. Bound. Accountable to one another.
Easy to state, challenging to embrace with body-mind-soul.

Perhaps our senses are not limited to the  traditional 5 senses. Perhaps there are other senses that only by their exercise and nurturing that allow us to come into being and sensory contact with the oneness of everything and all things.

The recent several day journey with a handful of fellows, reminded me that we are all seeking, reaching, fighting, striving, and walking , running or crawling towards something.

We may be blissfully happy or treacherously tormented as we propel ourselves along the way. We may clear the air with our laughter or water the hardened ground with our tears.

But the leaving the footprints in the sand, the sprinkling the clouds with our dreams, the wishing upon a star and telling ourselves bed time stories during the day, might allow those muscles of extra sensory perception to be activated.

Here's to all, and here's to us!
