In New Haven, a familiar face takes the helm at Dixwell Congregational
New Haven >> He’s been a city alderman, a university chaplain and an international scholar, but these days the Rev. Frederick J. Streets is happy to call himself a pastor again.
The 63-year-old spiritual leader has come full circle, in a sense. At 4 p.m. Sunday, when Streets is installed as the 25th pastor at New Haven’s historic Dixwell Avenue Congregational United Church of Christ, it will be in the same community of faith where Streets served as an intern 40 years ago.
