Community conversation to be held in Hamden Saturday
When Steve Ross moved his restaurant to Hamden last year, the town seemed divided, he said.
That’s why Ross, 34, owner of Cast Iron Soul Restaurant said he was willing to open his doors for Saturday’s community conversation to hear from residents.
The restaurant is located at 1012 Dixwell Ave., where the community conversation sponsored by the Register will take place from 11 a.m. to noon. I will serve as moderator.
“We are new to the community and we wanted to open our doors to introduce ourselves to the town and acquaint ourselves with members of the community,” said Ross, whose wife, Shayla, is co-owner of the restaurant.
“We never knew there was a south Hamden, we thought it was just Hamden, so we want to hear why the town is divided; if it is” said Ross, who moved from Congress Avenue in New Haven last October. “We are in the community now and want to lend a hand and get involved where needed.”
