The ONGOING LIBERATION

I am at the stage of my life where I can think of journey as chapters.

I went to Lincoln Elementary School, named after of course the Great Emancipator( more on that later)...

Attended Westinghouse Junior High School and 9th grade of Westinghouse High School ( but for financial tycoon and and scoundrel J.P. Morgan, Westinghouse would have been even more prominent....more on that later....

Attended the then Choate School now Choate Rosemary Hall, where adaptive thinking and innovative visionaries in the late 20th century realized that preserving the quality of the American dream required creating private secondary schools, before public secondary schools were common, or so the story goes...

Forgot to mention that I was chosen to participate in the first class of the historic experiment called A Better Chance, worked for a federally funded talent search program, locally branded as Project Seekout under the auspices of the Urban League....And Worked for entities called The Inner City and Empower New Haven...

It has dawned on me that I have been blessedly attached to names , initiatives and brands created to promote, improve, innovate , cure and correct something that still remains right before our eyes but difficult to see.

Whatever it is, given our collective and individual blind spots the journey continues, the joys rain down even when dark days are thought of and I am very very favored to be able to imagine the sun even when passing clouds obscure the illumination.

Close your eyes from time to time and realize , affirm, imagine, envision and indeed see....
