September 14th  - Saturday (Boston, MA) National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) presents: "2nd Annual Leadership Forum - Awakening the Leader in You"  The Leadership Forum is an open event that provides an opportunity for all NAAAP Boston corporate sponsors and partners to connect with 425+ active members and the Asian-American professional community.  In addition to a keynote speech, a panel presentation will be held to address key topics that matter to Asian-American professionals and a Career and Information Fair that will allow our corporate sponsors and partners to share information and opportunities. It is a day where a talented, diverse group of professionals and corporate partners come together to network, share, and learn.

September 19th & 20th - Thursday - Friday  (Washington DC) "Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN) presents: "African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit" in Washington, D.C. The summit assembles leaders within government, medicine and research, along with survivors and advocates to share and collectively address strategies to eliminate the prostate cancer racial disparity. Black men in the United States have a 60 percent higher prostate cancer incidence rate and suffer a 140 per cent higher death rate than men of any other racial or ethnic group. click here for more information
September 20th & 21st Friday & Saturday  - (Boston, MA) Scullers Jazz Club presents: "Saxophonist Great Walter Beasley" Considered by fans and critics alike as "the heir to Grover Washington Jr.'s throne," the Boston-based musician has long mastered an exhilarating high wire act of balancing a successful career as a contemporary jazz recording artist and performer with an equally thriving presence in the field of music education. Green Room Restaurant and Scullers Jazz Club combine to offer a Dinner and Show Package!  Patrons enjoy preferred seating in the club as well as complimentary parking! 
September 27th - Friday (New Haven, CT) The Lyman Center presents: "Saxophonist Marion Meadows" Kick off the Fall Jazz Series with hot grooves from soprano and tenor saxophonist Marion Meadows. In addition to fan favorites, you'll hear tracks from his new record "Whisper". He'll be complimented by funky trumpeter Cindy Bradley, who dazzles audiences nationwide with her especially dance-influenced sound. Our first show in the series is sure to burn the house down! 

September 28th  - Saturday -  (Boston, MA ) Berklee School of Music presents:  "13th Annual Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival"  The Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival-Boston's biggest block party! This year, the festival celebrates the theme Jazz: The Next Generation, with performances by some of the genre's most acclaimed up-and-coming alumni artists, including Grammy-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott; Mike Tucker Trio featuring vibraphonist Warren Wolf; and the Matt Savage Quartet featuring sax great Bobby Watson. Saturday, September 28, 2013. Three stages of live music, arts, crafts, a family park - even an Instrument Petting Zoo. Free and fun for all ages.

September 28th - Saturday - (Boston, MA) The Boston Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) presents: "Annual Freedom Fund Dinner" The Freedom Fund Dinner is an established tradition for NAACP Branches across the country which allows them to raise critical funds to effect change and advance the cause of civil and human rights in America. In addition, the Freedom Fund Dinner provides an opportunity to recognize community leaders, local businesses and national corporations, as well as emerging leaders - all of whom are actively challenging society to end discrimination, embrace diversity and ensure greater opportunity for all people.
