SAY NO TO BIGOTRY & HATE!
FIGHT BACK AGAINST RACISM
PROTEST TED NUGENT'S SHOW AT TOAD'S PLACE
Tuesday, August 6th, 6:30PM
Outside Toad's Place, 300 York Street, New Haven
After the racist killing of Trayvon Martin and the injustice of the not-guilty verdict against George Zimmerman, people across the country rose up in protest. Click here to read reports from nationwide actions.
Racist, sexist, homophobic musician Ted Nugent instead attacked Martin, his family and the Black community as a whole, saying that:
  • Trayvon Martin "got justice" while George Zimmerman only got a "sliver of justice,"
  • Trayvon Martin was a "dope smoking racist gangsta wannabe,"
  • Trayvon Martin "had no reason not to attack, because it was the standard thug thing to do,"
  • the Black community has a "mindless tendency to violence"
Both Nugent and Toad's Place are profiting from racism. Join us on August 6th at 6:30 PM.
Racism and hate speech can not go unchecked and unanswered!
On Tuesday, August 6th, Ted Nugent is scheduled to play a concert at Toad’s Place in New Haven. Over 2,500 people have signed a petition to Toad’s Place, demanding the show be cancelled, but the owner has refused to meet with organizers.
The only answer to this open acceptance of hate speech is to fight back!
