The maps show the distribution of the uninsured in a state by combining Census "Public-Use Microdata Areas" (PUMAs) and data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). All maps are interactive and clicking on any PUMA in a state displays more information on the number of uninsured and the distribution of the uninsured by income (based on the federal poverty level) and race/ethnicity.
