ACCESS HEALTH CT, THE URGENCY OF THE NOW

(Calling all Community Leaders!

There are two programs that bring the Affordable Care Act to the people. There are currently two open Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for these programs. The Assister Program RFP has been extended to June 7. The Navigator Program RFP is due June 18.)

Tom, here's a message I got from the CT Health Foundation to share with your network ...

Dear Colleague,

Did you know that in 2014, 65% of the people expected to gain health insurance through health reform in Connecticut are people of color?

Becoming a Navigator or Community Assistor is a tangible way for you to make a difference in reducing coverage inequities in Connecticut.

CT Health has partnered with Access Health CT and the Office of the Health Care Advocate to ensure that community-based resources are available to help people of color get covered through the Navigator and Community Assistor Outreach Program. By supporting this effort, you join with CT Health in its new strategic direction to expand health equity by helping more people of color gain access to better care. You can get involved by:

Applying, if eligible, for an Access Health CT Navigator or Community Assistor grant to help people in your community enroll in health care. The Community Assistor deadline has been extended until June 7th and the Navigator deadline is June 18th

Spreading the word about the Navigator and Community Assistor Outreach Program to others, especially non-traditional community organizations.

Many CT Health partners and grantees, past and present, have already applied. We hope more will join this historic opportunity to expand health equity in Connecticut.

Sincerely,
