"Mumia: Long Distance Revolutionary" 120 min DVD
"A
gripping documentary... comprehensive... edited in a very snappy,
lively, way so it's very entertaining even though it's telling an
intense story. And I love the way the film defines a revolutionary as
someone who has concern and love for the people, it's not someone who's
waging war, it's about someone who's trying to stop injustice."
— Rich Cline, Shadows on the Wall, UK
"Mumia:
Long Distance Revolutionary" Stephen Vittoria's new feature documentary
(produced in association with Prison Radio) is an inspiring portrait of
a man whom many consider America's most famous political prisoner -- a
man whose existence tests our beliefs about freedom of expression.
Through prison interviews, archival footage, and dramatic readings, and
aided by a potent chorus of voices including Cornel West, Alice Walker, Dick Gregory, Angela Davis, Amy Goodman and
others, this riveting film explores Mumia's life before, during and
after Death Row -- revealing, in the words of Angela Davis, "the most eloquent and most powerful opponent of the death penalty in the world...the 21st Century Frederick Douglass."

Dear Friend, May 22, 2013
Prison Radio needs your help!
The more successful the broadcasts,
the larger the impact, actually the harder it is to keep the little
nonprofit that could (Prison Radio) up and running.
A good friend said last week, "Wow,
Prison Radio is rocking!" The new sold out extended theatrical release
of the brillant movie "Mumia: Long Distance Revolutionary", getting the word out about Lynne Stewart, exclusive audio from Ohio's death row from the Lucasville Five. She said "Amazing. How are you doing it?"
Honestly, folks, it is because of
small and large donations from folks just like you. We just do not get
large grants, or fat royalties. We are operating on hope and prayers and
your web donations, purchases, and checks. "For real" as they say in Philly.
We continue to broadcast because of
your gifts. Every $25 means a great deal. Every purchase means we
continue to spread the word.
Your gift of $10, $25, or $1,000 makes it happen.
Our work is both a
lifeline for the prisoners and also for us. Yes it amplifies their
voices. But take a moment to think about what it does for us. As Kevin
Rashid Johnson has noted "Mumia is not free because we are not free".

In addition to bringing you insightful and brilliant weekly essays by Mumia Abu-Jamal, we have just posted censor-defying audio from these two heroes: Lynne Stewart and Bradley Manning in
their own voices. Despite their confinement, they have shared with us
the reasons why they continue to expose government misconduct and
shocking injustices.

These perspectives are
searing and profoundly illuminating. Mumia tackles head-on the vast
implications of incarceration. These hard hitting unvarnished critiques
have one allegiance — to the truth; not to a corporate master. When you
listen to Mumia you realize that the American media has become the
public relations arms of the Pentagon, Wall Street, and the White House.
