Long Wharf Theatre moves into prize-winning 'Clybourne Park'- The New Haven Register - Serving New Haven, Connecticut
They’ve been told the Elm City’s history of regentrification, and are taking part in talkbacks. A series of events throughout May called “Stage. Page. Engage” is being run in collaboration with the New Haven Free Public Library, facilitated by the Co-Creating Effective and Inclusive Organizations Project, a two-year pilot funded by Bill Graustein that began last April.
Local historians, including Colin Caplan and Tom Ficklin, will lead a series of free conversations that will discuss the evolution of the neighborhoods around particular branches of the library system.
Ting, LWT’s associate artistic director, will introduce each neighborhood exploration with a scene from “Clybourne Park,” presented by local actors.
“What is remarkable about Clybourne Park is that there is something we can all learn from,” Ting said. “There is a Clybourne Park in every community, and we cannot underestimate that fact.”
