LET'S PLAY BALL

Imagine a political debate season where a series of softball games are held. The season runs from May to September .

The softball games rotate throughout the city, at the various fields and even through in a wiffle ball game or two. The league is comprised of Toni's Tigers, Justin's Juicers, Matt's Manachees,(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manichaeism) Shaka's Zulus,
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-Zulu_War) Gary's Gladiators, Henry's Harriers, and Kerm's Killer Bees.

Judge Kee's is the commissioner to arbitrate any disputes and to approve any trades. The teams are comprised of the respective campaign loyalists and volunteers and the head coach is the campaign manager. Of course the next mayoral contenders are the General Managers.

The stands are filled at each game with citizens , partisans loyal to the other teams in this league of dreams, and  curious onlookers. The games are free , you only have to show your voter registration card.

At the end of each game is a big picnic with food donated by the unions, Yale, Popeyes, Mcdonalds, Brazzis and Mory's. Oh yes through in a pizza or two and maybe the first hamburger.

Everyone smoozes and breaks bread together and tries to convince who ever is in earshot that their candidate is the best one.

Let the games begin.
