Black & Brown People In The Bible Part 5
In 1958, from the writings of the Mormon Church: We know the circumstances under which the posterity of Cain (and later of Ham) was cursed with what we call Negroid racial characteristics. (.Bruce McConkie, Apostle of the Mormon Council of 12, Mormon Doctrine, p. 554, 1958.)
In 1929, a Jehovah’s Witnesses publication stated: The curse which Noah pronounced upon Canaan was the origin of the black race. (The Golden Age, The Watchtower (now is called Awake!), p. 702, 24 July 1929.)

Let’s deal w the so-called “Hamitic Curse of Blackness” in the Bible using the scripture Gen. 10:18-27. In theory “God “ curses Ham for breaking the law and looking on his mother & father’s nakedness, a sin against God & his parents(Lev. 18:6-8). First off Ham was not cursed with Blackness he was already Black. Secondly the curse was not upon Ham but upon one of his son’s Canaan, who also was already Black. And lastly the curse was pronounced by Noah out of his anger NOT A CURSE FROM GOD. This supposed curse was used to justify American and in general Black slavery. For if Black people were cursed because of sin by God then it would be BIBLICALLY OK to enslave these supposedly ¾ humans because “God said it should be so.” This theory should be equated with other racial asinine theories such as Black people are dumb, lazy, ugly, have smaller brains, couldn’t possibly play quarterback, or fly a plane, or be a lawyer, are built for servitude and were better off that the “great white father’s” gave them Christianity. This so-called curse should be dismissed immediately.

The previously mentioned Jebusites & the Hittites, from the line of Ham’s (Cannan’s) descendants (Gen. 10:16), were the original founders of the city of “SALEM” later named Jerusalem! (see Ezekiel 16:3) Jerusalem was later captured and inhabited by the children of Israel. In Judges 1:21 it mentions that the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusities that inhabited Jerusalem. Of course there was much intermarrying between these tribes. Thereby we have a mixing of the blood between Arab & Jews resulting in a similar skin tone(Judges 3:5-6)!
Speaking of the early Salem, later to become Jerusalem (Ps. 76:2), Melchisedec was the king who the New Testament “types” to Jesus and declares him to be greater than Abraham whom Abraham gave a 10% (the tithe) of his spoils to. (Heb.7:1-7) Melchisedec was both a king and priest to his people of Salem. Salam as well as the rest of Canaan was inhabited by Black people. See also the “woman of Canaan” found in Matt. 15:21-22.

The impact of this truth is astounding. The promise that Abraham received from God but did not fully understand all that God would fully do thru him. Abraham had won a great victory over several kings and still had rescued his nephew Lot in Gen.14:16. He was returning with the spoils of battle when God arranged an appointment with the Black Priest & King of Salem to share insight and revelation w Abraham on his true calling.
