Join us for an advance screening of a new PBS American Experience film that follows a passionate group of anti-slavery activists - including Harriet Beecher Stowe - as they fought the most important civil rights crusade in American history, the abolition of slavery.  With special guests:    Sharon Grimberg, Executive Producer, The Abolitionists Joan Hedrick, film advisor, Trinity College Professor of History and Pulitzer Prize winning author of Harriet Beecher Stowe: A Life     Lois Brown, film advisor, Wesleyan University Professor of  African American Studies and English specializing in abolitionist narratives    Reservations required.  RSVP by January 3.  Click here for directions and more information     Mark the 150th Anniversary of The Emancipation Proclamation  January 1, 2013    11 a.m. - Noon Connecticut State Capitol      The event will include a responsive reading, poetry and remarks by CT State Senator Toni Harp.
