Native American Heritage Month Resources

Each November, we honor the culture and contributions of the first Americans during Native American Heritage Month. Although often referred to as one group, American Indians and Alaska Natives have diverse cultures, languages and customs unique to each community. Health challenges, however, have not been as unique, with many First Nation communities experiencing the harsh impact of diabetes, HIV, heart disease, substance abuse and infant mortality. During Native American Heritage Month, the Office of Minority Health is sharing information and resources designed to empower, educate and inform.
