Critical Race Theory: From the Academy to the Community - Eventbrite:

Conference Information
Following the success of the last critical race theory conference held at Yale in 2009, Yale Law School is proud to host the “Critical Race Theory: From the Academy to the Community” conference on Friday, February 8, 2013 and Saturday, February 9, 2013. The conference is sponsored by the Zelia & Oscar Ruebhausen and Debevoise & Plimpton Student Fund at Yale Law School.

The conference will convene leading academic scholars, legal practitioners and community leaders to examine the ways in which critical race theory can be applied to scholarly work, legal practice, social justice advocacy and community based movements. Confirmed speakers include Devon Carbado, KimberlĂ© Crenshaw, Lani Guinier, Cheryl Harris, Tanya Hernandez, Darren Hutchinson, Charles Lawrence, Gary Peller, and Gerald Torres.

In 2009, Yale Law School hosted a highly successful 2009 conference that explored the insights of critical race theory, as applied to immigration law. We look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring the role of CRT in other contexts at this February’s conference.
