Special Film Screening: "You Don't have to Ride Jim Crow".
An award-winning PBS/ Robin Washington documentary about the Frist Freedom Ride, in 1947, which was organized by Bayard Rustin and George Houser.
Bayard Rustin served 22 days on a chain gang, as a result of this Freedom Ride.  He also managed to get the chain gang abolished in North Carolina.
There will be a Q and A with Jeremy Kessler, Yale specialist on Conscientious Objection. (Many of the first Freedom Riders, in 1947, had been Conscientious Objectors during World War II; Rustin and Houser had been COs.)
