Cuba Gooding Jr. is filming a feature film in Connecticut and the casting company is looking for extras.

The filming begins in September and goes through November and there is a casting call at the Downtown Bridgeport Public Library, at 925 Broad Street in Bridgeport, on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

The casting call for members of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Burroughs and Saden on the first floor. You must bring your membership card.

The casting call for the general public is from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Union members can also attend this part of the call.

The casting crew is looking for men and women able who can portray African Americans, Africans or Caucasians who look 18 to 60 years old.

These are paid background acting positions, according to the Bridgeport Library Web site.    

The name of the film was not released, but the listing on the library site says, “This is a story of a journey to freedom, and the unshackled spirit of the human heart.
