The Dinner Table:

Across the Table breaks down race and socio-economic barriers by bringing people together for meals and conversation. The dinners take place in groups of ten, all over the city of Chicago in restaurants, community organizations, art galleries, businesses and one even recently look place in a flower shop. The dinner conversations are always focused around a specific topic of conversation and the conversations are always led by a facilitator. In order to allow anyone and everyone to feel welcome and comfortable, the topics are always focused around a universal, human experience theme so regardless of your level of education, your knowledge of current events or culture, you are able to jump in and participate and share your thoughts, ideas and experiences. Across the Table’s diners always represent diverse races, ages, ethnicities and socio-economic groups. While dinners do typically cost $30 per person, anyone is invited to apply to join us at a reduced rate option of $10.
