DOWNTOWN/UPTOWN BENEFIT:  SoHo PROJECT HOSTS 8/28 FUNDRAISER FOR HARLEM-BASED WADLEIGH SCHOLARS PROGRAM AT THE COVE LOUNGE.



New York City...... On Tuesday, August 28, the SoHo Project, in NYC, will host a special event - HARLEQUIN, A Shoppers Night Mixer - some proceeds of which will benefit the Wadleigh Scholars Program, a Harlem based after school nonprofit.
Held at Harlem's Cove Lounge at 325 Lenox Avenue, near 126 Street, the SoHO Shoppers Night will offer items such as fine art, jewelry and fashion wear.  The suggested admission price is $20.  The Honorable Inez Dickens, NYC Councilwoman and Educator Edouard Plummer are Event honorary chairs.

Sponsored by Georgetown Cupcakes, AYZA Wine and Chocolate Bar and Dominique Ansel Bakery with music provided by DJ Cindy Kim, the August 28 SoHo Harlequin Shoppers Night begins at 7:30 pm and ends at 12 midnight. Participating vendors are Fashion Designer  Kiki Paterson, Wadleigh alum Anna Horsford with her AMH Jewelry Collection; and fine arts by visual artists such as Milli Burns; Pam Harrison; John Holylfield; Yolene Legrand; John Pinderhughes, John Holyfield; Sei; Donald Calloway, as well as items from the Museum of African Art.

Wadleigh, a NYC Department of Education Middle School and High School, is located at 114 Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. The Wadleigh Scholars Program prepares public school students for admission to and scholarships to boarding schools and local private schools.  Founded by educator Edouard Plummer 49 years ago, the Wadleigh Scholars Program boasts two generations of Black leaders across many career platforms: Wall Street, medicine, science, IT and law.

Founded by sisters Lindsay and Kimberly School, the SoHo (Sisters Offering Hope To Others) Project organizers benefit fundraisers and heightens the awareness of nonprofits through creative and artistic projects by drawing inspiration from the diverse and much-celebrated  NYC artistic community.  Visit www.sohoproject.com.
