GNHBPA MEETS WITH PAUL PATTON VP YALE NEW HAVEN HOSPITAL

The Greater New Haven Business and Professional Association held a public meeting and wide ranging discussion with  Paul Patton, VP of Human Resources Yale New Haven Hospital at the Community Outreach Center on Tuesday, July 18, 2012.

The topics and answers were wide ranging and timely.

This is YALE Town and has been such since 1701. With all due respect to those that think this is Quinnipiac Land or New Haven Colony Territory, those land and power claims have long since vanished.

One can slice and dice the interlocking relationships between Yale College, Yale University, Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale Medical School etc and whether they are independent and or interconnected.

For the dues paying (tax paying citizen) this is a Team Blue Company Town.

Has been since 1701. But today like never before a new phase of control , domination, opportunity, centralization, or whatever word one chooses is in effect.

The building of the two new residential colleges, the route 34 project, the West Campus ( the old Bayer complex) , the building of the new School of Management on Whitney Avenue, The Yale World Fellows Program, Science Park at Yale, the Omni Hotel at Yale, Holiday Inn at Yale, New Haven Open at Yale,  significant curriculum and research expansion, institutes and world wide in appeal events up the ying yang being held throughout the year indicate just at a glance the historical and transformational impact of this renaissance for some and questionable future for others.

Oh I forgot the acquisition not a merger but the buying of St Raphaels.

There are many places to live on the globe. Company Towns are not unusual. There are benefits to living in an area that will become arguably one of the top 100 towns on the planet to live in. (Assuming you can afford it)

Ask yourself why the old soundtrack property (  Gateway or now fortress gate to Dixwell) was purchased?

The Greater New Haven Business and Professional Association is to be commended for enabling the public and it's membership to rub shoulders up close and personal with one of the key players and institutional components as this monopoly games really ramps up like never before.
