Overview:

The New Moon on Tuesday begins a month long lunar cycle of full on world sea change. But there's a pause on Tuesday like the pause at the top of a roller coaster up ramp, and then we begin to accelerate and gather energy as the week unfolds.
The New Moon in Gemini each year is a time to reboot our thinking process. We can remove mental clutter and decide on the critical information we need on a day-to-day basis. This New Moon comes late in Gemini so there is a finalization or last review going on. Mercury, Gemini’s Lord and Master, is making a square to Saturn on the New Moon as well as an assisting connection to Mars in Virgo. Both of these make the mental housecleaning more thorough and organized. This is also an excellent time to rework physical and computer file systems.
As we look forward to the massive change energy coming next week, it's important to keep in mind that we have been through periods of extreme change before: the 1930's, the late 1950's which birthed rock 'n roll, and the late 1960's. The world survived although not unchanged. "One day at a time" may be a good mantra if it all seems too much to handle. Or one hour at a time, or one minute at a time, or one second at a time which declension brings us to the eternally changing NOW which is all that really is. Zen teaches that past and future are mental constructs. There is only the changing present where we live. Anxiety over the past and fear of the future drain our energy and blind us to the potential joy in the here and now.
Remember Venus remains in retrograde motion, so continue to pay attention to second thoughts and impressions. Right now, love at first sight will have a dubious outcome.
All of us alive today signed up for "life tickets" to help bring the new Aquarian Age into being. Birth is often messy and painful, and those of us looking with astrological distance are meant to bear witness and bring perspective. Uranus and Pluto bring destruction, but they also bring creation and innovation. There will be great opportunities as the smoke clears. We need to be flexible and prepared to let go of old patterns.
Wednesday brings us to the Summer Solstice. Despite the brontosaurial heaving and crashing in the big world, we have opportunities to harness this energy to make useful and healthy changes in our private lives. Venus and Uranus are linked opening ways to step outside of old habits and view people in a new light. Mars and Mercury make a similar connection that can clarify our speech and self-expression. In both cases action must be taken to best use these opportunities.
Coast through the long VOID Moon on Thursday and lighten up to enjoy Friday's Leo Moon party that eases affection and warmth among friends.
On Saturday the Sun shines with Neptune on a glimpse of the future that seems to be rushing at us. Pay attention to what's truly in your control and release concern for what is outside your control.
Uranus - Pluto finally make the exact square next Sunday beginning a week of extreme pressures and energies. Crisis is upon us. We can observe the world shrinking and changing all around us. The divergent points of view belonging to Aquarians and Scorpios collide: detachment vs. deep commitment. Do the "needs of the many outweigh the news of the few?" How to balance social needs against personal responsibility? How to maintain national cultural identity in a world that requires global responses and commitments?
The weather/climate and its effects, like the fires in the western U.S., may provide a symbolic illustration of the social upheavals.
After next week we've entered a long hot summer of change that will ease off in July and August to return in late September at a second peak period equalling this one.
Sunday June 17, 2012
Waking from confusing dreams (Gemini Moon square to Neptune) our minds continue to busily review and re-run conversations.
Monday June 18, 2012
Irritation gives way to understanding this evening as the Moon squares Mars then gets cleared by Saturn's touch. Introspection rules as the New Moon approaches.
Tuesday June 19, 2012
The New Moon comes at 8:02am/11:02am and then goes VOID until entering Cancer at 10:34am/1:34pm. Think about how your day-to-day life is arranged. Plan a quiet morning.
Wednesday June 20, 2012
The Summer Solstice comes at 4:09pm/7:09pm on a very busy day. Self-protection is a recurring theme, ideas surface only to be rejected. Conflict over the horizon is unsettling.
Thursday June 21, 2012
Home improvement or maybe home defense projects need to start early. The Moon goes VOID at 9:48am/12:48pm and ends the VOID at 8:47pm/11:47pm entering Leo.
Friday June 22, 2012
Sunny Leo lifts the mood making yesterday's obstacles shrink in the light. Creative juices flow as the Sun moves into harmony with Neptune through tomorrow.
Saturday June 23, 2012
The Uranus - Pluto square that has been a rising background of stressful energy for many weeks peaks tonight. The world seems out of balance and out of control. Think small and local. The Moon goes VOID at 3:26pm/6:26pm.
Ongoing
Venus goes retrograde May 15th and resumes normal motion on June 27th. She is in Gemini throughout this time.
