BLACK POWER

Just saw a good friend, sporting a  Tommie Smith and John Carlos tee shirt. My mind went immediately to the upcoming London Olympic Games. It also flashed back to Jessie Owens and the tensions in Germany with Hitler overlooking the soon to be world games in flames.

At any rate John Carlos has authored a book. Although there are many books on the civil rights era,we should in no way forget the sacrificial demonstration statements made by Tommie Smith, John Carlos, Muhammad Ali and others.
