HAMDEN BLACK HISTORY MONTH COMMITTEE HOSTS ANNUAL COMMUNITY CELEBRATION

The Hamden Black History Committee will host its Annual Black History Celebration on Friday March 23 beginning at 7 p.m. This event will be held in the Thornton Wilder Auditorium of the Miller Memorial Library. This year's theme is "Respect Begins at Home." Community Service Awards will be presented to four outstanding local leaders, including Keith Koontz of WTNH, Rev. Brian Bellamy, Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, Karen Butler,Principal of Ridge Hill Elementary School, and Jaquan Dease, a senior at Hamden High School. Music will be provided by Hamden native and recording artist, Blessing Offor. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
