Tuskegee airman, WWII hero, Clarence Dart dies - Times Union: "SARATOGA SPRINGS — Clarence Dart, who battled racism and flew 95 combat missions in World War II with the elite African-American pilots known as the Tuskegee Airmen, will be buried with military honors Tuesday.

Dart, 91, was one of the last living members of the segregated all-black fighter pilot unit that waited decades for formal recognition from the military. He died Friday at Wesley Health Care Center where he had lived for three years. He suffered a stroke on Feb. 4 and did not regain consciousness."
