MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY HOLDS NEWS CONFERENCE ON VOTER RIGHTS LEGISLATION; SPEAKS AT
MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. EVENT
(HARTFORD, CT) – On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will host a news
conference to announce legislation he intends to introduce this session that
will preserve voting rights, including expanding voter access to registration
and polls. He will be joined by Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Secretary of the
State Denise Merrill, Chairman of the Board of Common Cause Dr. Bilal Sekou and
a group of state lawmakers and advocates.
Later, Governor Malloy will speak at a ceremony hosted by the Connecticut Martin
Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission at a ceremony in the State Capitol honoring
the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
