15th Annual Wall Street Project Economic Summit Meets in NYC January 25-27, 2012
Annual Gathering of the Nation’s Top Influential Leaders Declare “Bringing Everyone to the Table”
(New York, NY) December 5, 2011 – The Rainbow PUSH Wall Street Project will host the 15th annual gathering of the Wall Street Economic Summit from January 25-27, 2012 at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, 811 Seventh Avenue at 53rd Street, New York City. This year’s summit, “We Are One World: Bringing Everyone to the Table” focuses on access to capital, industry, and technology for American families and businesses facing economic disparities. This year’s honorary chair is Terry J. Lundgren, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Macy’s Inc.
Reverend Jesse L. Jackson Sr., one of the nation’s most influential civil rights activists and religious leaders, created the Wall Street Project to spur access to capital, industry and technology for minority businesses and communities. Each year the Wall Street Economic Summit brings together many of the nation’s foremost commerce, business-minded, and entrepreneurial agents to discuss the economic, social justice, community interests, concerns unique to men, women and children of African American, Hispanic and diverse cultures.
“Middle-Class America is vanishing,” says Rev. Jackson, founder and president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and organizer of the Wall Street Project. “In order to maintain its existence, we need to expeditiously reinvigorate our economic equality. There is no time to waste, we are at risk. American households and small businesses are threatened to make ends meet. Now, is the time if we want to start reshaping our families, businesses, and economy,” adds Rev. Jackson. “Immediate action and participation will create a solid foundation for the nation’s economic security. This year, we are expanding the opportunity for access to capital, industry, and technology. Celebrating our 15th anniversary, the summit will continue to provide participants with information and resources needed to restore confidence and financial stability going forward.”
