INVISIBLE STUDENTS

Laura McCargar, the founder of Youth Rights Media, and a fellow traveller on the path to great schools for all in CT, is launching a report on December 15th that she did with grant support from a couple of foundations--she has really gone deep to look at why CT has such a serious high school dropout problem, and what is happening to some of the kids who end up in alternative ed programs.

A Better Way Foundation and the Connecticut Pushout Research and Organizing Project
invite you to the release of a groundbreaking new report:

Invisible Students
There are thousands of young people across the state of Connecticut pursuing their education outside of traditional high schools. Some have left high school by choice; others have been counseled, coerced, or otherwise forced to leave. This report examines the systematic removal of struggling students from traditional high school and explores their experiences and outcomes in the alternative and adult education programs they attend.
