VETERANS DAY CALL TO ACTION

During Congressional Black Caucus Foundation ALC I had the pleasure of attending a screening of "Double Victory", a documentary produced by Lucasfilm.  This documentary chronicles the life and times of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American military aviators in the United States armed forces who served the country in battle during World War II. Veterans Day Call To Action This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Tuskegee Airmen of the 1,000 pilots that began their training in 1941, only approximately 50 are still alive today.  That's why I've decided to join Lucasfilm's efforts to "Honor the Airmen," and invite you to join me by finding ways to incorporate tributes to the Tuskegee Airmen into celebratory events, church services, and other programs in your communities on or around Veterans Day which is November 11, 2011.
