VETERANS DAY CALL TO ACTION

CBCF Logo
During Congressional Black Caucus Foundation ALC I had the pleasure of attending a screening of "Double Victory", a documentary produced by Lucasfilm.  This documentary chronicles the life and times of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African American military aviators in the United States armed forces who served the country in battle during World War II.

Veterans Day Call To Action

Vet Day
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Tuskegee Airmen of the 1,000 pilots that began their training in 1941, only approximately 50 are still alive today.  That's why I've decided to join Lucasfilm's efforts to "Honor the Airmen," and invite you to join me by finding ways to incorporate tributes to the Tuskegee Airmen into celebratory events, church services, and other programs in your communities on or around Veterans Day which is November 11, 2011.

Use these guidelines as a tool to celebrate the life and legacy of these true American heroes.  Please refer to the following URL:  http://lucasfilm.box.net/shared/kty7kpdzs5v2jpbydmzl Password --- RedT4ils

Please join me in becoming the first to answer the call to Honor the Airmen.  As these men enter their twilight years it is important that we act quickly, honoring them with the national recognition that they so readily deserve.  The Airmen paved the way for many of the liberties that we all hold dear as Americans, and anyone who lives in this great country can appreciate that.  It is important that we make the face of valor and do everything we can to honor their service and sacrifice this Veterans Day.
Tuskegee Airmen
With Sincerity,
