"I believe that the surroundings contributed to a perception that I was suspicious," Nappier said in a telephone interview Wednesday evening. The incident occurred "in a black neighborhood, I was driving a black car and I am black," she added.
Asked if that meant she thinks racial profiling was involved, she said: "That is a legitimate question. … I don't know the answer.""
