Stanley F. Battle, interim president of Southern Connecticut State University, has been named as one of the 100 Most Influential Blacks in Connecticut for 2011 by the Connecticut State Conference of NAACP Branches.
Battle and his fellow awardees will be honored during the 46th annual Connecticut NAACP State Convention, which will be held Oct. 15 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville. Comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory will be the keynote speaker.
